Professor Kellogg knows the music business

If you want a book that deals with contract law in the music industry this is the one for you. Professor Kellogg lectures directly from this book for his Berklee classes. It is a must own resource book. He gives many examples of what may happen, what you should do, what you shouldn't agree too, and that finally ultimately you need to acquire a music attorney. This book is for the person who wants to know enough to be able to understand what's going on with their career in terms of contracts...this book will not make you a qualified music attorney. Professor Kellogg makes that clear and I agree. It helped me find my counsel and gave me an idea how to deal with them to get the most from them.

You know, it always amazes me when knowledgable/professional/experienced professionals and educators take time away from their careers and families to help other music business folks understand the inner workings of the industry. John Kellogg, a noted Berklee College of Music professional, is one such person. John writes in a clear language that is easy to understand and he organizes his book in a way that analyzes contract clauses one clause at a time. He is optimistic and encouraging. If you are "LOOKING" to gain a better understanding of the music biz, then you shall gain a better understanding of the music business by reading this book.
